Mary Joyce Ballance Spruill, 76, of Elizabeth City, died October 6, 2021 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. She was born in Pasquotank County on July 30, 1945 to the late Grady Wilson Ballance and Sally Ann Parker Ballance.

Survivors include husband David M. Spruill, daughter Wendy Holland (Brian); son Wayne Spruill (Arline); sister Mildred “Millie” O’Neal; brothers Leonard Ballance and Preston Ballance; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings Jimmy Ballance, James W. Ballance Sr., Doris Sawyer and Estelle Smith.

Funeral service as held October 12 with burial at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Twiford Funeral Home is serving the family. www.TwifordFH.com
