Great horned owl on the move

Sometimes on the refuge, great horned owls are easier to hear that see – especially when they hoot for an entire visit! The owl in the photo had just leapt from a tree top to join a second great horned owl in another tree.
“Give a hoot and enjoy your local national wildlife refuges as the humidity lowers and the air cools a bit,” invites USFWS.
