Duck Police Department blotter October 4-10

The Duck Police Department’s weekly blotter for October 4 through 10, 2021 noted the department had 208 calls for service and 10 traffic enforcement actions were issued by officers.

Also during the week, 132 business checks were made and no unsecured doors were found. Six extra patrols were requested by out of town property owners.

Suspicious condition (Duck Road) – Caller reported the following day that someone was seen walking around under the home on his Ring camera around 2 a.m. The property owner stated the video quality was poor, so he was unable to provide a description of the suspect. The property manager checked the property and found the home secure with nothing missing. The owner requested extra patrols of his property during the early morning hours.

Suspicious condition (Scarborough Lane) – Property owner called from out of state to report seeing two juvenile males under his residence attempting to take his golf cart. When officers arrived, the subjects were gone and nothing was missing. The property owner requested extra patrols of the property.

Traffic crash (Duck Road/West Sea Hawk Drive) – Two vehicle rear-end collision. An SUV was making a right turn from Duck Road when a truck pulling a trailer with heavy equipment struck the rear corner of the SUV. There were no injuries to either party.

Traffic crash (Duck Road/Mallard Drive) – Two vehicle rear-end collision. SUV collided with a tow truck. No injuries were reported.
