Each year, the bobolink (Dolichonyx oryzivorus) covers serious migrating miles between southern South America and North America. Their migration travels are over 12,000 flying miles.

Bobolinks eat insects such as grasshoppers, beetles, ants and wasps as well as seeds and a variety of grains, with their favorite grain being rice.

These were spotted at the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge.
