Winston Salem, NC – Rhaina Leeann Spencer of Winston Salem, NC died Friday, October 29, 2021. She was born on April 10, 2021, to Madison Lynn Cahoon and Amantay Nashiem Spencer.

In addition to her parents, Rhaina is survived by a brother, Lane Alexander; her maternal grandmother, Trisha Cahoon (Stevie Green); paternal grandmother, Majuana Spencer (Barry Basnight); maternal grandfather, Brandt Mohr (Kim); maternal great-grandmothers, Robin Cahoon and Waverly Mohr; maternal aunt, Alex; paternal aunt, Manaya Basnight; maternal uncle, Austin (Aunt Em); paternal uncles, Shaheim, Nassiem, and Hakeem Basnight; and a host of cousins, and extended family members.

Rhaina was soon to be a big sister to a new baby she didn’t get to meet.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Rufus Basnight; maternal great-grandfathers, James Madison Cahoon and Richard Mohr Sr.; a special paternal cousin, DaQuon Basnight; and a special maternal cousin, Leeann Fletcher, who she was named after.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Twiford Colony Chapel with Rev. Joan Batson officiating. Burial will follow in Manteo Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives for a viewing and visitation Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Twiford Funeral Homes to assist with final expenses.
