Pamela Elaine “Pam” Midgette, 67, of Point Harbor, NC died unexpectedly on November 11, 2021. Pam was born in Pasquotank County on April 29, 1954, to the late Ralph Anderson Midgette and Mary Ann Roughton Midgette. Pam graduated from Camden County High School in 1972 and made a career as a folk artist, spending many years alongside her mother making ceramics in Camden, at the Duck Woods Country Club in Southern Shores, and at the Kitty Hawk Fishing Pier in Kitty Hawk. After her mother’s retirement, she owned and operated Midgette Island Crafts in Point Harbor.

Pam also acted as an amateur, yet highly proficient, genealogist – long before the current national craze. She made connections throughout her mother’s and father’s families in Tyrrell and Camden Counties, respectively. Despite having no siblings or children of her own, Pam and her mother cared diligently for numerous cousins as if they were their own children or grandchildren. She led a simple life, yet one that greatly enriched her friends and family.

Pam is survived by numerous cousins and their children in addition to her uncle, Irving Midgette of Old Trap; and aunt, Marie Dykes of Chesapeake, VA.
