On Thursday, December 2, 2021, heaven received our precious child Allura Monáe Pledger. Allura was born on July 9, 2018, just three years and five months ago. She packed so much love, joy, and life in those three years, that she left a hole in our hearts at her leaving us so soon. Allura loved deeply and freely. Much like her mother, she was a “take charge” type of child. When it came time to play, it was time to play. When it came time to go, it was time to go. When it was time to eat, it was time to eat, when she was ready. She loved to sing, dance, watch PJ Masks and spend time with her mom Takeyia, dad Von, and sister Kieriana.

Allura leaves to cherish her memory her doting father, Von C. Pledger Jr., her beautiful sisters, Akilayh (Frankie) Wilson and Kieriana Berry, her brothers, Tavion Garner and Aki Jones, loving grandparents, “Pop-Pop” and Constance Payne and Dorothy Pledger, and a host of loved ones, to include aunts, five nieces, uncles and a host of cousins. Allura rejoices in heaven with her mother, Takeyia De’Shay Berry. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Maloyd L Berry Jr.

Intimate services to remember this precious angel will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the main sanctuary located on the campus of St. Andrew’s By-The-Sea Episcopal Church in Nags Head, NC. Hortons Funeral Home Columbia, NC is in charge of arrangements.
