Eastern North Carolina watercolor artist Wendy Jewett’s paintings will be available for viewing and purchase at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks (UUCOB) Meeting House starting December 19. UUCOB is located at the corner of Kitty Hawk and Herbert Perry Roads in Kitty Hawk.

Jewett started painting at age 63 and is a primarily self-taught artist with many juried shows and awards to her credit, as well as having her work in many private collections around the country. Her style is representational with a limited palette of complementary colors. The show features work from the “Endangered Series” (South African wildlife), inspired by the artist’s recent trip, sketching, photographing and exploring the culture of South Africa.

The opening, artist talk and reception are set for 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, December 19 at UUCOB. The public is invited to attend. For additional information and viewing times, contact Gwen Taylor at 804-307-9737 or gwen@tayloremail.com.
