In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all Dare County offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.

In addition, the Dare County Public Works Department, which provides trash collection for the Dare County’s unincorporated areas and the Town of Kitty Hawk, has announced a revised trash collection schedule for next week in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Residential trash collection for the week of Monday, Jan. 17 through Friday, Jan. 21 will take place as follows:

• Monday, Jan. 17 – Closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day (no trash collection)
• Tuesday, Jan. 18 – Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras
• Wednesday, Jan. 19 – Manteo, Wanchese, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Manns Harbor, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon
• Thursday, Jan. 20 – Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras
• Friday, Jan. 21 – Manteo, Wanchese, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Manns Harbor, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon

Commercial dumpsters will be picked up on Tuesday, Jan. 18 and on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022.

The Dare County C&D Landfill, Buxton Transfer Station and Manteo Recycle Yard will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Dare County offices will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022.
