Jackpot for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing nears $350 million

The Mega Millions jackpot continues to roll to higher levels in 2022, offering North Carolinians a chance in Tuesday’s drawing to win a $347 million jackpot, according to a news release from the North Carolina Education Lottery.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been growing drawing after drawing since October. A winner in North Carolina could take home the jackpot as an annuity paying out the $347 million over 29 years or choose instead to take home $239.4 million in cash.

While the jackpot grows, other big prizes have been won in North Carolina.

In Friday’s drawing, someone who bought a ticket at Ingles Market on U.S. 25 North in Hendersonville won $20,000 and someone who bought a ticket at the Fast Mart on South Eugene Street in Greensboro won $10,000. Earlier, in the New Year’s Eve Mega Millions drawing, someone who bought a ticket in Lewisville won a $1 million prize. The $1 million prize remains unclaimed.

“Congratulations to those lucky Mega Million winners,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “Good luck to everyone trying to win that $347 million jackpot. We would love to congratulate a jackpot winner in North Carolina on Wednesday morning.”

The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are one in 302 million.
