As of last week, Hyde County Schools is reporting positive results of homet cases as they are shared with the school system by parents. The system will also begin reporting home test results of staff members who individually choose to share those results. Previously, Hyde County Schools has only reported positive results after they were confirmed by the Hyde County Health Department. With home tests not being reported to the health department, there will be no way going forward to have those home test results “confirmed.” If parents and staff choose to share the results of home tests, the system will provide that information to families and staff. The announcement states “We will not share ‘hearsay’ results; we will only post results that are confirmed by an individual student’s parent or the staff member themselves.”
