Sophia “Sophie” Daniel, 92, of Buxton, died at home on January 30, 2022.

She was born to the late Nick Marko Kustudich and the late Irene Marie Strauch Kustudich, August 15, 1929 in Valier, Illinois.

Survivors include children Kurt and Denise Daniel; Paul Daniel and Denise H. Wright; grandsons Taylor Daniel and Tanner and Chloe Wright and sister-in-law Lois Mauer, as well as nieces and nephews.

Sophie was predeceased by husband Monroe Daniel.

A memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Seas Catholic Church in Buxton at the end of February.

In lieu of flowers the family asks people to consider a memorial donation to either Cape Hatteras United Methodist Men via CHUMM, PO Box 1591, Buxton, NC 27920 (hatterasmethodistmen.org) or Hatteras Island Wildlife Foundation via HIWR, PO Box 216, Frisco, NC 27936.
