Aleta Austin Gray, 89, of Hatteras, died at home February 17, 2022. A native of Frisco, she was born January 29, 1933, to the late Maggie Whedbee Austin and George Winfield Austin.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband Claughton Miller Gray and five siblings.

Survivors include daughters Chyrel Austin (Tracy), Kathy Robinson (Paul) and Kimberly Gray; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on February 20 at Little Grove United Methodist Church with private burial in the Ballance Family Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation (hicf.org), Hatteras Island Meals (hatterasislandmeals.org), or Cape Hatteras United Methodist Men (hatterasmethodistmen.org).
