James Robert Bienvenu, 85, of Manteo, died February 19, 2022. He was born in Opelousas, La. on December 13, 1936.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife Katherine Washburn Bienvenu and five siblings.

Survivors include stepson Jon Crumpacker (Barbara); four step-grandchildren, brother Dean Leary (Grace) and other family.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on February 24 at Roanoke Island Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org/).
