Wayne Elijah Hammond, 73, of Kill Devil Hills, died February 20, 2022 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

Born in Dalton, Ga. on May 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Haynie Augusta Jones Hammond and Eligie Ralph Hammond.

Survivors include daughter Christina Gomez (Daniel); three grandchildren; and sisters Glenda Parks, Wanda Grant and Barbara Sales.

A private family gathering will be held.
