William Milnor Downing Sr., 75, died February 18, 2022. Bill was born to Doris Trommer and William Downing on October 11, 1946 in Bristol, Pa. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and served as an officer upon graduation.

Survivors include wife Christine Grow, children Mary Downing, Elizabeth Gray (Scott) and Bill Downing Jr. (Janell); six grandchildren; and siblings Judy Rossman, Susan Downing, Thomas Downing and James Trommer.

He was predeceased by mother Doris Trommer, father William Downing and sister Nancy Ennis.

Celebration of life will be held February 23 at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Nags Head. Donations may made to Interfaith Community Outreach, PO Box 1663, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948.
