Dare County Sheriff’s Office releases felony crime blotter for February

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has released the felony crime blotter running from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28, 2022.

Eight crimes are reported. Five crimes were committed in Colington and one each in Waves, Roanoke Island and Buxton.

A firearm was stolen from a boat in Buxton.

Feb. 7: Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 200 block of Outrigger Dr., Colington. Tools stolen from an owner’s closet. Under investigation.

Feb. 9: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 200 block Tower Lane, Colington. Unauthorized withdrawals from bank account. Under investigation.

Feb. 10: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 26000 block of NC 12, Waves. Purse stolen from unlocked vehicle somewhere in Dare County.

Feb. 14: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 100 block Partridge Trail, Colington. Unauthorized withdrawals from bank account. Under investigation.

Feb. 15: Identity Theft. 800 block Colington Drive, Colington. False bank accounts opened using victim’s identity.

Feb. 20: Breaking and Entering. 100 block of S. California Lane, Roanoke Island. House broken into and ransacked. Suspects identified and charges filed.

Feb. 24: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 200 block Huron Court, Colington. Computer scam. Under investigation.

Feb: 28: Larceny of Firearm. 48000 block of NC 12, Buxton. Firearm stolen from a boat.
