Ashley Lindsey won two individual events for the Currituck Knights with a throw of 32-11 in the shot put and a discus toss of 102-02 while Arianna VanGelder and Serenity Doran each picked up first place points for the girls team. VanGelder won the 300 meter hurdles and Doran took the 400 meter dash.

Currituck girls also won the 4×400 meter relay, giving them a comfortable lead over second place First Flight with 116 points. The rest of the field included Northeastern in third place with 112, Pasquotank County fourth with 36 followed by Gates County fifth with 29 and Bertie in sixth with 4.

Leading the charge for First Flight girls, Tatum Dermatas won both the 1600 and 800 meter runs, while Alexa Hallac was the first runner to the tape in the 3200 meter run.

Although officials were able to keep things moving, with as many as two or three dozen athletes in several events, it proved to be another long evening for athletes.

One person moving easily around the track was Warner Campbell. Campbell picked up two individual event wins for First Flight boys when he built a sizable lead over 15 other runners in the 1600 to win that event with a 4:43.1 and then coasted to a 2:07.2 in the 800 meter run for his second win of the day. He remains unbeaten for the season in both events.

Also picking up first place finishes for First Flight were Noah Adams with a :23.2 clocking at 200 meters and Chase Matis with a time of 11:15 in the 3200 meter run.

Currituck boys had the best 4×800 and 4×400 meter relay teams and Riley Lenz took the 400 meter sprint with a time of :52.8.
