Filomena C. Crank of Harbinger, NC passed away to her Heavenly reward on April 1, 2022 at her residence following a lengthy period of declining health. “Fanny” as she was known by her many friends and family passed just five days before her 95th birthday. Born in Elizabeth, NJ on April 6, 1927 to the late Armand Cistaro and Rosita Menzaco Cistaro, she was the widow of Porcius Festus Crank Jr. who preceded her in death in April of 2002.

Fanny was a homemaker raising her family, but also helped with the family peach orchard and bakery. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, baking and cooking. She was a volunteer for many years at the Hotline Thrift Store.

Fanny is survived by two sons, Jonathan Crank and wife Shirley of Harbinger, NC and Timothy Crank and wife Miriam of Kitty Hawk, NC; a sister, Virginia Cistaro; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to sincerely thank her caregivers, Ronda Williams and the Community Home Health and Hospice nurses Amy, Katie, Mary and Liz for their wonderful, thoughful and compassionate care.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Minister Homer Styons officiating. A visitation for family and friends was held from 1–2 p.m. prior to the service. A private burial will be in Powells Point Christian Church Cemetery.
