Learn to make strawberry-kiwi jam using powdered pectin. The principles for making this jam carry forward in almost all jam recipes. We will be demonstrating how to utilize a water bath canner to process the jars we prepare.

May 18th – Pickling

In this class, we will focus on making quick pickles and then preserving them utilizing a water bath canner. We will also discuss how to safely use other methods of pickling and processing for pickled products.

June 15th – Salsa

We will prepare a vegetable salsa and process it in a water bath canner. I will provide you with other recipe recommendations as well, but this recipe is a great way to supplement your garden produce with other locally grown products.

We have additional classes coming in July, August and September to include pressure canning, fermentation and dehydration.
