Dare County Sheriff’s Office releases felony crime blotter for March

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has issued the felony crime blotter for March 2022 in unincorporated Dare County.

Nine crimes are reported, with four on Hatteras Island and one each in Martins Point, Wanchese, Roanoke Island, Manns Harbor and Colington.

March 1: Financial Card Fraud. 47000 block of Jarvis Lane, Buxton. Unauthorized bank account transactions. Under investigation.

March 6: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 48000 block of NC 12, Buxton. Money taken from unlocked vehicle.

March 9: Forgery of Instrument. 26000 block of NC 12, Waves. Unknown subject tried to spend counterfeit money. Under investigation.

March 14: Breaking and Entering. 3000 block of Martins Point Rd., Martins Point. Subject entered a residence without permission and was recorded on security cameras. Subject was located in the neighborhood and arrested.

March 16: Burglary Second Degree. 52000 block of Gondyke Way, Frisco. Home broken into and items stolen. Latent evidence collected. Under investigation.

March 17: Larceny of Dog. 700 block of Old Wharf Road, Wanchese. Dog stolen from owner. Suspect identified and the dog was located and recovered. Charges filed and suspect arrested.

March 19: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 800 block of Jackson St., Roanoke Island. Purse taken from unlocked vehicle. Under investigation.

March 22: Cruelty to Animals. 2000 block of Mashoes Road, Manns Harbor. Dog intentionally drowned. Under investigation.

March 23: Identity Theft. 100 block of Roanoke Dr., Colington. Unauthorized account opened with fraudulent charges.
