After two years, the Currituck Historical Society will hold its annual dinner meeting on April 18 at Rehoboth Baptist Church on Maple Road. The speaker will be the newly-appointed Dr. Darin Waters, associate secretary of Department of Cultural and Natural Resources and the head of the Department of Archives and History. Waters will talk about the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the country and provide updates on what is going on across the state historically. All our meetings are open to the public.

Currituck BBQ will cater the meal, which will cost $15.  The menu will include chicken cordon bleu with three sides as well as dessert. Those who need a special plate should let organizers know. Dinner will be served starting at 6:45 p.m. and the program will start at 7:30 p.m. To make a reservation, call Shelia Tyler at 232-2762, Barbara Snowden at 619-6991 or Mike Hall at 232-8037.

The Currituck Historical Society will also sponsor the laying of a wreath at the Knapp Memorial on May 26 at 11 a.m.
