On April 14, staff at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and Wright Brothers National Memorial said goodbye to Deputy Superintendent Mark Dowdle, who worked hard the past eight years to preserve and improve National Park Service sites on the Outer Banks.

Dowdle now embarks on a journey to Alaska to become the superintendent of Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve and Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve.

Dowdle is shown above next to the Outer Banks Group headquarters sign, located on the grounds of Fort Raleigh National Historic Site.
