Two Virginia women arrested for drug, other charges following Colington traffic stop

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of two Virginia women after a Colington traffic stop.

According to a DCSO press release, on April 7, 2022 at around 11:30 p.m., deputies working the A-District conducted a stop for a traffic violation near the 1900 block of Colington Road. “During the stop, the Deputies checks showed that the passenger had outstanding warrants,” stated the release. “An amount of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized.”

Karena Lashea Harris, 31, Newport News, Va., was charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possessions of drug and marijuana paraphernalia and misdemeanor driving while license revoked. Harris received a $8,000 secured bond.

Kla Che Jordan, 38, Portsmouth, Va., was charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor failure to appear warrants for speeding and driving while license revoked. Jordan received a $7,000 secured bond.
