James Gilbert Witchey, 83, of Elizabeth City, died April 16, 2022 at home. He was born in Wadsworth, Ohio on March 26, 1939 to the late William Charles Witchey and Irene Viars Witchey Guilliams. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include wife Catherine Ann Clubb Witchey, children Donna Marie Witchey, Tari Lynn Grier, James “Beau” Witchey (Wanda) and Rodger Witchey (Wendy); 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on May 5 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Twiford Funeral Home is serving the family. www.TwifordFH.com
