Comillos Jackson “CJ” Liverman Jr., 84, of Columbia, died Monday, May 16, 2022, at his home.

CJ was born in Tyrrell County on February 26, 1938, to the late Comillos J. Sr. and Lillie Swindell Liverman. He was married to the former Starlyn Comstock, who survives.

CJ was a member of Columbia Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee and deacon. He worked as a millwright for Weyerhaeuser for more than thirty years before retiring. CJ loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors almost as much as he loved his grandchildren. He was known affectionately as Granddaddy, Pop-Pop, and Papa to his grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Columbia Missionary Baptist Church. Prudencio Casas will officiate.

The family will receive friends following the service.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Curtis Liverman (Kim) of Greenville, stepson Thomas Wall (Varessa) of Creswell, son in law Jeff Crabtree of Harrellsville; grandchildren, Chris Liverman (Coral), Gavin Liverman, Trey Wall, Zachery Wall, Gabrielle Wall, Lennon Wall, and Dylan Harrell; one great-granddaughter Bailey Estep; and a brother Howard Liverman (Connie) of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by daughters Becky L Crabtree, Stephanie W Harrell, and one brother Brian Liverman.
