Do you have research and/or a real-world solution that you would like to share with a wide audience at the North Carolina Coastal Conference? North Carolina Sea Grant is now accepting proposals for presentations, posters and lightning talks for the event on Nov. 7 and 8 at the McKimmon Center at NC State University in Raleigh.

“We look forward to gathering researchers, agency and business experts, community leaders, students — and all who are interested in coastal topics — for engaging discussions,” notes Susan White, Sea Grant executive director. “From our past Coastal Conferences, we not only have learned from all the speakers, but also we have found new and renewed partnerships develop during the networking time.”

Abstracts – short presentation or poster descriptions limited to 250 words  must be submitted online by Friday, Sept. 2 at 5 p.m. via the portal at eseagrant.ncseagrant.ncsu.edu. There is also an option for alternative formats, such as an organized panel on a specific topic.

“Students are especially invited to participate to share their research,” adds John Fear, deputy director.

Past conferences have had a wide range of topics. Participants from the 2019 event suggested they would want to learn more about: community perspectives, social sciences, marine renewable energy, civic engagement, stormwater, hazard communication, public health and fisheries.
