Ashton Colson Jr., 66, of New Hope, died June 28, 2022 at Currituck Health and Rehabilitation Center in Barco. He was born in Pasquotank County on January 13, 1956 to the late Ashton Colson Sr. and Grace Etta Leonard Colson.

Survivors include children Amber Simpson (Chris) and Eric Colson (Caitlyn), sister Carolyn Godwin, three grandchildren and other family.

Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on July 6 at Twiford Memorial Chapel.
