Dr. Jesse John Morris, 100, of Elizabeth City, died July 3, 2022 at home. Born in Pasquotank County, NC on October 9, 1921 he was the son of the late Jesse John Morris and Kathryn Sawyer Morris. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include daughters Kathryn Morris DeFriese and Mary Kandace Morris, son Jesse John Morris and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on July 10. Burial will follow in Old Hollywood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6–7:30 p.m. on July 9 at Twiford Memorial Chapel.
Flowers are welcome, but memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 201 South Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
