Thomas John Slater,  67, died July 7, 2022 in Virginia Beach, Va. He was born August 30, 1955, in Hartford, Conn.

He was predeceased by mother Bernice Moore, father Hillman Slater and brother Timothy Slater. Survivors include wife Rev. Susanna Fitch-Slater, sons John Slater; Michael Fitch (Kristen) and Tim Fitch (Sarah), four grandchildren, siblings Karin Tyrrell (Jimmie), Ronald Slater, Paul Slater (Duvit) and David Slater.

Celebration of life will be held July 14 at 2 p.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church in Wanchese with private burial in Cudworth Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, PO Box 239 Wanchese, NC 27981.
