Local mortuary worker advances

Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. has announced that senior service technician Richard Heath Jackson has graduated with honors from Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU) in Elizabeth City with a bachelor of science degree in Christian ministries and biblical studies.

“Jackson was also the recipient of the MACU ‘Christian Ministry Award’ for exhibiting dedication to Christ and His Church and exemplary service in His name. He was also inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa (TAK) a national honors society for religious studies and theology,” noted a Gallop Funeral Services statement.

Upon completion of his bachelor’s degree, Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. founder Courtney N. Gallop offered Jackson a promotion within the company to facilities and operations manager. Jackson will begin his new duties immediately and has earned this latest promotion after six years of dedicated service with the funeral Home. Jackson is a licensed crematory operator with Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. running the company’s East Lake crematory.

According to a statement from Gallop Funeral Services, “We have been proud to watch Heath excel both academically and professionally. We feel he is a tremendous asset to the company and the families we serve.”

Jackson resides in Colington with his wife Pamela and two sons. He has special expertise in exegetical preaching and ministry development and has served the local community for several years in both supporting and leadership roles.
