Lennie Lewis Hughes Sr., 81, of Elizabeth City, died August 10, 2022 in Norfolk, Va. Lennie was born in Rocky Mount, NC on April 5, 1941. He was predeceased by parents John Henry Hughes and Maybelle Lewis Hughes and brother John Hughes. Survivors include wife Ann Parke Godwin Hughes; children Lennie Hughes Jr. (Shelby), Laurel Hughes Senick (Don) and Benjamin Hughes and three grandchildren.

The family will hold a memorial and celebration of life at a later date at Benjamin House. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Benjamin House, Inc., P.O. Box 757, Elizabeth City, NC  27907 (benjaminhouse.org).
