The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks (UUCOB) is continuing its longstanding tradition of displaying the work of local artists in its sanctuary. Cameron McCubbins will open her show on Sunday, September 11 with a talk and reception at 11:45 a.m.

Inspired by a trip to Peru a few years ago, McCubbins’ work of vivid colors reflects the beautiful world of nature. There are photographs taken there and many here including close-ups of the ocean. She also paints with watercolor pens and these and her photographs are displayed in upcycled frames which she buys fro, thrift shops and repurposes with bright colors, giving them new life.

The theme of recycling is important to McCubbins and runs through her work. She also produces art objects from recycled items. Her business is called Pachamama, which means mother Earth.
