A former Ft. Bragg substance abuse counselor was sentenced August 22, 2022 to 12 months and one day in prison and five years of supervised release for sexual contact without consent and will also have to register as a sex offender, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of North Carolina. Harrell Lenear Jamison, 48, pleaded guilty to the charge on April 8, 2022 pursuant to a plea agreement.

According to court documents and other information presented in court, Jamison was a substance abuse counselor for the Substance Use Disorder Clinical Care (SUDCC) program at Ft. Bragg.

“During a session with a patient, Jamison undid the pants of his 20-year-old victim, put his hands inside her underwear, and rubbed her groin area,” stated the press release. “When the victim asked him to stop, he said, ‘be quiet, you’re fine.’ After attempting to drive away from the appointment, the victim pulled over and was found crying on the side of the road.”
