Currituck County Schools announced Sunday evening, October 2, 2022 that schools in the system will operate remotely on Monday, October 3 due to forecast weather conditions.

“Late this evening we have received updated information from Currituck Emergency Management that indicates a new coastal low will have the potential to significantly impact our weather tomorrow,” stated information released by CCS. “In light of the potential for wind and coastal flooding, Currituck County Schools will operate on an asynchronous remote learning day.”

Students in kindergarten and first grade will receive assignments through Class Dojo, while students in second through twelfth graders will access their assignments through Google Classroom. All assignments should be posted by 8:30 a.m. Monday morning, noted CCS. Work will be posted to be completed asynchronously; there will be no live sessions. Students will have through Friday, October 7 to turn in remote day assignments.

“At this time, there is no word if COA will still hold classes for our dual enrolled students,” stated the CCS notification. “Students who may have face to face COA classes are not expected to attend COA classes when school is cancelled for Currituck County. We will notify COA of the change to our schedule.”
