Donations of new or gently used formalwear are being collected to help ease the burden of the cost of preparing for the Manteo High School homecoming dance. The deadline for drop-off has been extended to Thursday and the date for students to pick out clothing has been moved to Friday.

To help the community’s youth, organizers are collecting appropriate attire for the high school students, including cocktail, prom and bridesmaid dresses, jewelry, handbags and shoes for girls and khaki pants, dress slacks, dress shirts, ties, belts and shoes for boys. Donations may be dropped off through October 6 during business hours at Southern Bank of Manteo, Dare County Farm Bureau of Manteo, O’Neal’s Sea Harvest and Mount Olivet United Methodist Church.

Manteo High School students are invited to come and pick out clothing and accessories for the dance on Friday, October 7 from 12:30-4 p.m. at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, located at 300 Ananias Dare Street in Manteo.
