Roanoke Island Garden Club to meet Thursday at The Elizabethan Gardens

The Roanoke Island Garden Club is scheduled to meet Thursday, October 6 at Odom Hall, located at The Elizabethan Gardens.

Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m. with the business meeting following at 1 p.m.

An program on folk medicine will be presented by Terri Russo Meeks, Island Farm’s lead interpreter. She presents this program every Friday at the Island Farm in Manteo. The program educates folks about treatments for common ailments in the 1850s, concentrating on herbal remedies.

RIGC meets the first Thursday of each month from September through May, usually at Odom Hall. The public is invited to attend.
