Christian Forrest Powers Sr., 53, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 6, 2022. He was born in Oceanside, CA and was the son of Susan Blount Lowry of Kill Devil Hills and Rick Powers (Carolyn) of Emporia, VA.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and stepfather, Buddy Lowry of Kill Devil Hills. Christian leaves behind his wife, Susan Johnson Powers and daughter, Caroline Duvall. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Selina Noel Martin; daughters, Alina Noel Powers and Kristin Chaffee Powers (Beau); his son, Christian Forrest Powers Jr.; his grandson, Cameron Ryan Doxey; his brothers, Ricky Powers (Tammy), Corey Daniels (Heather), and Crae Daniels; and sisters of a previous marriage, Brandy Sutherland, April Hillis, Jennifer Fimple, and Elisha Mills.

Christian attended Manteo High School and later pursued further education at Sandhills Community College. He spent many years in construction, specifically roofing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In his free time, Christian was an avid motorcycle rider. In his younger years, he rode motocross and more recently he enjoyed long rides on his Harley Davidson Softail “Old Black.” When he wasn’t on land, Christian wholeheartedly enjoyed spending time on the water, even if every vessel he had broke down. He loved the ocean and spending time on the beach with friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to Saving Lives Taskforce at savinglivesobx.com. Condolences and memories may be shared at gallopfuneralservices.com as they are assisting the family with arrangements. The memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Gallop Memorial Chapel, in Nags Head. A motorcycle escort as a tribute to Christian’s love for riding will proceed to a gathering at Avalon Pier in Kill Devil Hills. All who wish to participate are welcome to join in a celebration of life farewell paddle out to release his ashes to the sea. Promptly following the paddle out, all are welcome to join the family for food, memories and refreshments at 306 Cameron Street, Kill Devil Hills. Overflow parking at Paradise Golf.
