Crews battle Kill Devil Hills blaze

The Kill Devil Hills Fire Department has reported that on October 11, 2022 at 11:57 p.m., KDHFD fire crews responded to a call of a fully involved structure fire in the 500 block of Burns Drive.

Fire crews from Colington, Nags Head and Kitty Hawk fire departments also responded to the incident. The Kill Devil Hills Police Department, Dare County EMS and Dare Forestry were on scene and assisted in the operation.

“The fire was extinguished and there is extensive damage to the structure,” stated a KDHFD press release. “Everyone got out of the structure safe. There were no injuries.”

The Kill Devil Hills Fire Marshal John Risoldi Sr. is investigating to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
