The Dare County Library has announced it will hold free drive-through trunk-or-treat events on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Manteo Library and the Kill Devil Hills Library.

For the Manteo event, families are invited to stop by the Manteo Library in or out of costume between 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. The free event will be held in the Manteo Library parking lot.

The Roanoke Island Fire Department, Children and Youth Partnership for Dare County and Dare County Library staff members will be onsite throughout the event. “Come by to see your local librarians transform into an astronaut, Escargot the Snail, the Little Blue Truck, Paw Patrol and Red Riding Hood,” invited event organizers. “This event is free and fun for all ages!”

For the Kill Devil Hills event, families are invited to line up in the Kill Devil Hills Library parking lot from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 for drive-through trick-or-treat fun.

“The librarians will be ready to feed your ‘little monsters’ some candy and offer creepy Halloween activities,” invited event organizers. “Come in costume and let the Kill Devil Hills Library make your Halloween extra ‘spookalicious!’ This event is also free and fun for all ages!”

Both trunk-or-treat events are planned to be held as drive-through events for safety reasons; no walk-throughs will be allowed.
