“After the Gavel – A Report on Women’s Reproductive Health Options in North Carolina” is an upcoming community program sponsored by the LWV of Dare County. This free, non-partisan event will be held at Jennette’s Pier in the upper-level conference space in Nags Head on Thursday, November 3 at 7 p.m. No registration required.

Serving as panelists will be invited professionals from the medical, governmental and policy sectors, including: Susan Trueblood of the Dare County Department of Public Health, family nurse practitioner specializing in women’s health; Jillian Riley, NC director of public affairs for Planned Parenthood; and Dr. Jonelle Haigh, board certified obstetrician and gynecologist who practices at Outer Banks Women’s Care in Nags Head, will address medical issues.

“Since recent legal and policy decisions have been instituted, access and options available to women for specialized healthcare has become more complex and is rapidly evolving,” stated a Dare LWV press release. “This expert panel will provide the facts everyone needs to navigate the current landscape of women’s reproductive healthcare in North Carolina and the Outer Banks. Panelists will address questions posed specifically from the LWV followed by questions submitted from the audience.”
