Robert Carlton Ballance Sr., of Shawboro, died October 29, 2022 at home. Born November 4, 1936, he was the son of Dan Ballance and Mary Lamb Ballance of Moyock. He served in the Army National Guard.

Survivors include brother Danny (Madelene), sister Grace Swain, sons Randy (Cheryl Carpenter) and Robert (Catherine), two step-granddaughters, special friend Lenora Ferrell and other family.

He was predeceased by wife Lena Tarkington Ballance, son Ricky, sisters Rosa Johnson, Glenna Lancaster and Phyllis Taylor and brother Dempsey.

Graveside service will be held at Moyock Cemetery on November 3 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be November 2 from 6–7:30 p.m. at the Twiford Memorial Chapel.
