Fall is here and it is that time of year again to grab your cowboy hat and boots and come on out to the Bulls and BBQ event at the Currituck County Rural Center-CCRC located in Powells Point. Bring your friends and family out for a day filled with fun family festivities, the event will be held on November 5, 2022 from noon until 6 p.m.

Free Festivities are open to the public from noon to 3 p.m., which includes the Anything Goes Craft Market, food vendors, mechanical bull riding, petting zoo, live music, Kinfolk Mobile Axe Throwing and cornhole tournament.

From 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., enjoy the 2022 People’s Choice BBQ Competition (which may include some of our KCBS competitors) where attendees get to be the judge of who’s serving up the best tasting barbecue, which includes judging favorite fixings as well. Tickets for the People’s Choice portion of the event are $10 per person and can only be purchased in advance online at BullsandBBQ.com. Once participants have finished sampling some delicious barbecue, they get to cast their votes for their favorite. Winners will be announced at 4 p.m. Proceeds from this competition will benefit the 4-H Backpacks for Kids, a local non-profit carrying out the mission to provide Currituck’s school-aged children with the necessities to enhance the total school experience and ensure they reach their full potential with dignity.
