Marie (Bunny) Louise Rogallo Samuels, formerly of Southern Shores, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2022, at her residence in Newport Beach, CA.

Bunny was born in Hampton, VA on September 7, 1940 to Francis Rogallo and Gertrude Sugden Rogallo. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Phillip Joseph Samuels.

After high school she attended Mary Washington College where she met the love of her life, Phil, a dashing lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. They were married in August 1960. They were stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA, Camp Lejeune, NC, and Quantico, VA, where she completed her degree at Mary Washington College. They returned to Camp Pendleton where they raised their three children. Bunny was also a reading specialist and third and fourth grade teacher for over 20 years in the Capistrano School District.

Upon retirement in 1998, she and Phil moved to Southern Shores to be closer to her parents where she enjoyed crafting, reading and membership with the local chapter of Retired School Personnel. After Phil’s death in 2015, she returned to California in December 2018 to be close to her children.

She is survived by son Michael (Gretchen) of Denver, CO and her grandsons Kevin and Sean; son Todd of Long Beach, CA and grandchildren Madison and Cole; daughter Kelly Jawor (David) of Costa Mesa, CA and granddaughters Ella, Ava and Leigha. Also left to cherish her memory are a brother Bob Rogallo (Sallie) and sisters Carol Sparks (Norman) and Frances MacEachren (Alan) as well as many cousins and friends.
