The North Carolina Education Lottery has reported that the Mega Millions jackpot continues to roll and stands at $429 million the drawing set for Friday night, December 16, 2022.

“A North Carolina winner would have the choice of taking home the $429 million as an annuity or $233.6 million in cash,” stated a press release from the N.C. Education Lottery.

“The Mega Millions game offers life-changing jackpots and Friday’s $429 million prize certainly qualifies as that,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Even though the jackpot remains up for grabs, North Carolinians have still been taking home other nice prizes. In Tuesday night’s drawing, a lucky ticket matched four white balls and the yellow Mega Ball to win $10,000. The prize doubled to $20,000 when the 2X Megaplier hit. The ticket was purchased at the River Bend Fuel Market on U.S. 17 South in New Bern.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been on a roll since two tickets in Florida and California split a $502 million jackpot in the Oct. 14 drawing. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are one in 302.5 million.

The Powerball also has been on a roll recently as Saturday’s jackpot rises to $149 million, or $80.4 million in cash.
