New ownership of Duck’s General Store announced

Tomlinson and Associates, LLC and Brent Tomlinson have announced the sale of Duck’s General Store, located at The Waterfront Shoppes in Duck. “Duck’s General Store is a very popular gift shop located directly beside the famed restaurant, The Blue Point,” stated the announcement of the sale.

Duck’s General Store was purchased on November 22, 2022 by Heather Martin and Christopher Costa from Taunton, Mass. Martin is a CPA and Costa is a regional sales manager for a large national beverage company. “The team will continue to operate the store offering the same high quality products, with the same great staff and manager,” noted the announcement.

Duck’s General Store was previously owned by Kathy and Don Nye. The Nyes, originally from Wilmington, Del., purchased the store in July 2011 and moved to Southern Shores. Kathy Nye had an extensive background with several large retailers and Don Nye was previously an executive for Lexus of Delaware.
