Manns Harbor, NC – Clelia (Cleo) Tatem, 92, of Manns Harbor, NC died peacefully in her sleep on Christmas morning, December 25, 2022.

Born in Curwensville, PA, Cleo was valedictorian of her high school class. She met her husband-to-be, Sidney Ray Tatem, while working for the FBI and moved to Norfolk, VA to raise four children. She co-owned Cleo’s Seafood on the Outer Banks for many years and was well known for her sense of humor and good advice to her beloved customers. A devout Catholic, Cleo was a fixture at Holy Trinity By The Sea Catholic Chapel and her faith was a very important part of her life.

Cleo was selfless and dedicated to her husband, children, and grandchildren and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Sidney Tatem and partner Mary Duncan, Stewart Tatem, Ann Bernadette Tillet and husband Kenny, and Mary McCoy and partner Frank Goley. Also, surviving are eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, in the Tatem Family Cemetery, Gibbs Woods, Knotts Island. The family will receive friends and relatives for a viewing and visitation Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo.
