Cape Hatteras National Seashore’s Cape Point and Frisco campgrounds open Friday, April 7. Campgrounds at Oregon Inlet and Ocracoke are open year-round. Reservations and payments for camp sites must be made online at recreation.gov.

Classrooms of students can visit Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and Wright Brothers National Memorial for free. Funding is available to reimburse transportation costs and rangers will provide curriculum-based programs for classes.

Students across North Carolina learn about the state’s history, including the important stories of Native American peoples, English exploration, the Freedmen’s Colony on Roanoke Island and the Wright brothers’ first flight, all of which the Outer Banks national parks preserve.
