The 1-A conference basketball playoffs kicked off Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023.

In the boys competition, Ocracoke, which finished the regular season in the top conference spot, hosted Cape Hatteras. Columbia hosted Bear Grass.

In the girls contests, Cape Hatteras claimed first place at the end of the regular season. The Lady Hurricanes hosted Mattamuskeet. Columbia girls traveled to Bear Grass.

On Thursday, winners in Tuesday’s games will play at First Flight High School in Kill Devil Hills. The girls contest starts at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.

The ticket price for both games is $10.

The state playoff tournament begins Tuesday, Feb. 21.
