Mark Grossman, DVM, reports that a Manteo resident called Roanoke Island Animal Clinic and “told us this red tailed hawk got into her chicken coop and she was afraid to catch it herself.”

RIAC veterinary assistant Galen Vasquez went over with Jenny Atkins, who just graduated veterinary school and will be joining RIAC as an associate, to capture the hawk and release it.

“Kudos to Galen and Jenny,” said Grossman.
